Further consultation is live for revised planning application submitted within the Whitehouse Street Regeneration Area

In April, the Galliard Apsley Partnership submitted a planning application to build homes, commercial space and student accommodation on the land to the south of Princess Street, also known as plots 7 and 8 in the regeneration framework

The development seeking approval is for four buildings that would provide build to rent apartments of which 20 per cent would be affordable. Ground floor space dedicated to business and community uses and 400 student bed spaces are also included within the proposal. Public access through the site is provided alongside several landscaped open spaces that include some children’s play facilities.

The applicant has revised the scheme since it was submitted. Please refer to the resubmission cover letter and associated documents within the revised application for details. Amends include, but are not limited to, dwelling numbers, ground floor business and community space and massing and appearance of two of the buildings, as well an adjustment to the separation distance between them. The tenure and discount to market rent of the affordable housing provision has also been confirmed.

Following these updates a further round of consultation is now live and you can comment on the application until Wednesday 3 December. To view and comment on the application, search the council planning portal using the reference 25/11778/F.
