Vattenfall to carry out works on Whitehouse Street as part of the Bedminster Heat Network energy centre construction

As part of the construction of the energy centre for the Bedminster Heat Network, Vattenfall will be carrying out initial works at 39 Whitehouse Street.

The works will require a section of the footpath, cycleway and one lane by 39 Whitehouse Street to be closed. This closure will be in place between 27 October 2025 and 19 December 2025 between 8am and 6pm. One lane of Whitehouse Street will remain open, and traffic will be managed using a two-way traffic light system. Safe pedestrian and cycleway diversions will be in place.

The work taking place will involve specialist contractors, ThermaMech, installing an extension to the underground pipe in Whitehouse Street and connecting it into the energy centre which is currently being installed at the private car park of 39 Whitehouse Street.

The energy centre being installed has been carefully positioned following output of noise impact and air quality impact assessments, which have indicated that there should be no significant noise or air quality impact to nearby businesses. This energy centre will generate the heat for connected buildings, making sure residents have heating and hot water.
