Upcoming overnight road closures for resurfacing works
Essential road improvement works will be taking place on Hereford Street, Whitehouse Lane, and the junction of Whitehouse Lane and Philip Street overnight from Monday 13 October for around four weeks.
The works involve reconstructing the roads, resurfacing them and painting the road markings. They are the final stage of the Bedminster Green Highways Project to install a new cycle lane on Whitehouse Street, improve accessibility and make active travel into and around the area easier for all.
The works will happen at night to minimise disruption to local businesses and to those travelling into and around the area. There will be no motor vehicle access, except for emergency services, between 6.30pm and 6am each night. Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained at all times on pavements, although cyclists should dismount.
While the works are underway, access to Windmill Hill by motor vehicle will be via St John’s Lane. Businesses in the area will remain open as usual in the day.
Some noise is expected overnight while the works take place, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being made to minimise noise for those people who live in the area.
We’d like to thank local residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while these improvement works are carried out.
