Airport Flyer bus service moves to Dalby Avenue
As of Sunday 31 August, the Airport Flyer bus service no longer stops on East Street and will serve the newly constructed bus lane and bus stop on Dalby Avenue.
Airport Flyer buses which go towards Bristol Temple Meads and the City Centre, will now run after West Street via Sheene Road, Malago Road and Dalby Avenue to Bedminster Parade, instead of via East Street.
The Airport Flyer service will no longer serve the stop on East Street, but will instead serve the Wesley Street stop on Sheene Road and the new Dalby Avenue stop on Malago Road.
There will be no change to the timetable or journey time.
The relocation fits in with the broader aims of the Bedminster Green regeneration, where improved transport links and public space upgrades are central to the area’s transformation. Dalby Avenue’s new bus stop has been designed to accommodate increased passenger flow and provide safer, more efficient boarding and alighting facilities.
The Bedminster Green regeneration project also includes improving East Street, protecting and enhancing its role as a vibrant and useful high street. Alongside various other initiatives, efforts are being made to reduce the amount of traffic that travels down the street to make it a more pleasant environment for those shopping on the street or visiting hospitality businesses. The Airport Flyer moving to Dalby Avenue is part of this effort to reduce traffic.
The move also supports East Bedminster’s vision of a well-connected, low-carbon community. By consolidating transport routes and enhancing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, the area aims to reduce reliance on cars and promote sustainable travel.
