Bedminster Works seeks Directors

Bedminster Works, a collaboration between Bristol City Council, Windmill Hill City Farm, Action Greater Bedminster, Share Bristol, and Ocean Estate agents, is seeking people to join its board of directors.

The Community Interest Company (CIC) formerly known as the Bedminster Property Partnership seeks to encourage more local independent businesses, community organisations, and other socially-trading organisations to locate to or stay in Bedminster by helping to negotiate long-term, secure and affordable leases or community ownership of buildings.

Bedminster Works is one of five pilot projects around the UK which is supported by Platform Places and funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund.

The programme aims to bring local authorities together with community groups, property owners and agents, elected members and other local stakeholders to negotiate leases that benefit the whole community.

Bristol City Council is supporting the development of the Bedminster Works as part of the Bedminster Green regeneration programme.

New board members will be joining an existing Board of three Directors and a staff team of two, the partnership is specifically looking for people with skills in the following areas:

  • legal (company, contract, or property law)
  • finance (accounting, financial management, investment)
  • property (acquisition, management, development, surveying)
  • planning (urban planning, regeneration, community development)
  • acquisition of buildings (negotiation, due diligence, asset transfer)

The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday 24 November. Further detail on the role and how to apply can be found here.
